IMPORTANT: Troubleshooting of heaters should only be carried out by qualified Gas Safe engineers or Electricians.
Press and hold the overheat lockout reset button for 3 seconds and then release. If the heater doesn’t reset, let it cool down for a few minutes and then try again. To speed up this cooling process, manually turn on the main distribution fan. There are three ways to do this:
The heater has a burner on the front. If it has locked out, the red light on the burner will be on. To reset it, press the lock button for 1 second; the red light should turn off.
If the controller (thermostat) is calling for heat, the light will turn yellow as the burner attempts to turn on (produce a flame) and then turn green after it has maintained a flame.
Make sure the valves on the gas supply are open (open: handle parallel to gas pipe; closed: perpendicular to gas pipe). For oil heaters, make sure the fuel is topped up.
If the red light doesn’t turn off, contact our Technical Support Team or a Gas Safe registered engineer for more help.
If the flue of the heater becomes blocked, the blocked flue indicator will turn on and the heater will go into lockout. Before resetting the heater, contact a qualified Gas Safe Engineer to inspect the flue first. As resetting the heater with a blocked flue could cause harmful fuel mixtures to build up.
